Children with additional needs may have difficulties accessing the same transport opportunities as their peers.  Depending on their specific needs they may be entitled to assistance in getting to and from school, help with the additional costs of getting around and/or a motability vehicle.  If the child requires a wheelchair then there are guidelines to ensure that it is suitable to meet the child's needs, and that if necessary it is safe to be transported in a vehicle whilst in the wheelchair.
